John 6: 1 – 14. If you’re familiar with the story, you’ll know how Jesus turned a boy’s meager offering of two small fish and five barley loaves into a miracle. I started this blog with that story in mind.

Just two fishes and five loaves. But in His hands, that little boy’s lunch fed five thousand men and more. I wonder, what could he do with my offerings? What could he do with me?

So I write. And as I write, I hope to contribute something good to the conversation. I hope to engage my world and bring attention to what we can all do to fight against the chaos and ugliness that mar the beauty we’ve been given. I hope to challenge and to question, and in my frail attempts, bring some kind of understanding to the table.

I am a wife, a mother, a student and a writer. I could be anyone, and as I write, I keep this in mind. As anyone, I choose to focus on family, on friendship, on love, on the beauty of our created world, on social justice, on joy and laughter. And on pain and suffering.

Please read on. I hope to make you laugh, to touch your heart and make you think. Most of all, I hope to encourage you to believe life is so much more than what we see today.

And please, let me know your thoughts as well. Leave a comment and take part in the conversation I am hoping to start…
