Wise, By Josiah

I’m letting you listen in on one of our conversations after our bedtime devotions. We have been reading from the book of Proverbs.

Elijah, my 5 year old: “What does wise mean, Mommy?”

Me: “It’s kinda like being smart.”

Josiah, my 9 year old: “No, it’s not.”

Me: “Well, how would you explain it to your brother then?”

Josiah: “Ejay, smart is counting 20 cars on the road. Wise is knowing that if you step out on the road, you’re gonna get killed.”

And that, we all agreed, is a wise approach to life.
